Offshore Poker Sites Among Michigan's Order To Halt Operations - Poker News
"Michigan gaming regulators have continued their efforts to root out unregulated online gaming operators from the state in 2026. The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) issued cease-and-desist orders to 45 offshore operators over the past four months, including some popular poker sites. Michigan Gaming Control Board issued cease-and-desist orders to 45 offshore operators over four months. The orders target platforms offering online casino games, sports betting, and poker to Michigan residents without authorization. The regulator stated the operators are unlawfully operating outside Michigan’s regulatory framework and lack consumer protections. The list includes several poker sites such as ACR, True Poker, BetOnline, and SportsBetting.ag. The companies have not responded to the orders, and offshore operation suggests users may not be blocked from Michigan. Michigan legalized online gaming and poker in 2019, with regulated sites launching in 2021. The board has also pursued unregulated operators and sweepstakes casinos in recent years.
