Paul Kooiker produced a portrait series of Ian Svenonius wearing Tatras that channels the energy of the Washington DC punk scene. The Kooiker images and additional photographic projects will be shown at Dover Street Market Paris during Paris Photo, open 15–19 November and free to the public. Chardchakaj Waikawee photographed faces and street scenes across Bangkok with stylist Ai Kamoshita. Thomas Mailaender assembled cinematic characters and set pieces as a humorous probe into contemporary masculinity. Conor Donlon guest-edited a Pasolini retrospective with tributes from Olivia Laing, Willem Dafoe, Eileen Myles and These New Puritans, while JH Engström retraced Pasolini’s steps through Ostia. Filmmaker Jim Jarmusch reflects on 1980s New York, his friendship with Tom Waits and Father Mother Sister Brother, and Mexican artist Ana Segovia presents Ramón, exploring dark eroticism in cowboy dress.
