Local Dog Crashes Olympics, Chases Camera, Is Best Boy
"He was crying this morning more than normal because he was seeing us leaving-and I think he just wanted to follow us,"
"He always looks for people."
"stubborn, but very sweet."
"I was like, 'Am I hallucinating?'"
"I don't know what I should do, because maybe he could attack me, bite me."
A two-year-old Czechoslovakian wolfdog named Nazgul escaped from a nearby home and entered the women's cross-country free sprint qualification at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy on February 18. Nazgul ran behind skiers, chased a remote-controlled broadcast camera, and crossed the finish line amid an amused crowd before being corralled by local officials. The dog was returned unharmed to a nearby bed-and-breakfast. The owner said Nazgul had been crying more than normal that morning and likely wanted to follow people, and described him as stubborn but very sweet. Clips of the incident went viral across multiple social platforms.
