Soon after, Parada was picked off of first base, for the first out of the inning. To extend the lead, Luke Ritter smacked a solo homer, giving the Mets a 3-1 advantage."
"On the mound, Jonathan Pintaro got the start, pitching four innings, only allowing one run, and striking out six batters. Next, Kevin Herget gave up two runs across two innings, but the rest of the bullpen shut it down from there. Huascar Brazobán tossed a scoreless seventh, Richard Lovelady did the same in the eighth, and Wander Suero earned a save with a clean ninth inning."

Syracuse added runs in the fifth and sixth through hits by Jose Azocar, Kevin Parada, Luke Ritter and Jared Young. Lehigh Valley cut the lead with a two-run homer by Felix Reyes. Jonathan Pintaro started effectively and the bullpen closed the game, with Wander Suero earning the save. Game two follows on Wednesday night.
