Mike Brown said the Knicks managed their pace reasonably well but must play faster and can increase their speed. The preseason win over Philadelphia revealed confusion when players faced a different opponent and highlighted the need to lift the pace several notches. Earlier practice showed progress on the new offensive system and enthusiastic execution. The starting lineup produced a first quarter resembling prior tendencies with limited ball movement, missed shots and mistakes. Pacome Dadiet replaced OG Anunoby, creating an unfamiliar combination that appeared to be tested or showcased. The organization continues seeking a trade to open roster space for veteran additions.
