LIU's hockey programs are investing $3 million to enhance Northwell Health Ice Center, their home since 2021 following the merger of LIU Post and LIU Brooklyn. The upgrades include a four-sided jumbotron, new seating, improved lighting and sound systems, and enhanced in-game experience features. LIU's men's hockey team, despite being newly established at the Division I level, has demonstrated competitive strength by nearly defeating Penn State and defeating Minnesota on the road this season. The facility improvements aim to create a premier Division I atmosphere, strengthen home ice advantage, and increase fan attendance and engagement around the growing programs.
