"My record speaks for itself."
"I've supported legislation that would do everything from expand daylighting citywide and reduce speed limits in the five boroughs to other bills that strengthen protections and wage standards for app-based delivery workers. I've also worked to expand the number of protected bike lanes in and around my district; establish new community-backed open streets; and reduce the speed of e-bikes being sold to address citywide safety concerns,"
Uber NY PAC donated $118,000 to Council Member Crystal Hudson and $143,129 to Council Member Julie Menin, totaling more than $250,000 toward the contest for City Council Speaker. The Speaker holds power to decide which bills advance and which fail. App-based companies used PAC contributions and independent spending to seek influence or access during the campaign. Hudson emphasized her record on daylighting, citywide speed reductions, protections and wage standards for app-based delivery workers, more protected bike lanes, community-backed open streets, and limiting e-bike speeds for safety. Menin received $27,000 from DoorDash's PAC and individual donations from opponents of safe-streets and a donor later indicted on bribery charges.
