
"AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Dan Pydynowski told the Advance/SILive.com that the worst weather - the expected blizzard - will come later on Sunday and into early Monday morning. "The worst of it is going to be this evening and then really into Sunday night and Monday. That's when we're going to see the heaviest of the snow and the winds really crank up," Pydynowski said."
"New York City area could see snow begin Sunday afternoon, and above-freezing temperatures might keep accumulation low to start. "Between now and 5 p.m., I think we're going to see just light snow. It might not even amount to a whole lot, temperatures are going to be at or even a shade above freezing," Pydynowski explained. Storm conditions will increase in intensity beginning around 6 p.m., the senior meteorologist said."
"As for predicted snowfall, Pydynowski says that Staten Island could see "around a foot" of snow, with the AccuWeather snow outlook saying that the greatest probability is between 10 and 14 inches. Blizzard warning On Saturday, the National Weather Service issued a blizzard warning for the city, its first in close to a decade, from 6 a.m. Sunday to 6 p.m. Monday. In addition to the blizzard, NWS has also issued a coastal flood warning for the New York City area,"
