"But after allowing a game-tying goal to Chris Kreider with 51 seconds left in regulation time, the Sharks allowed the game-winning goal to Leo Carlsson at the 46-second mark of overtime in a 7-6 loss to the Ducks. Jeff Skinner's goal with 14:26 left in regulation time gave the Sharks a 6-4 lead at the 5:34 mark of the third period. But San Jose continued to play loose, carefree hockey, and allowed three unanswered goals for their second straight heartbreaking loss."
"Considering the Sharks added Klingberg to run the point with the man advantage. They added Jeff Skinner, Philipp Kurashev, and Dmitry Orlov as second-unit options; the Sharks should be better on the power play this season. Klingberg scored on a two-man advantage at the 10:34 mark of the second period, and Gaudette, who scored three of his 19 goals on the power play last season, made it 5-3 Sharks at the 17:14 mark of the second."
"The Sharks and Ducks combined for nine goals, including four on the power play, and eight minor penalties through the first two periods, a reasonably accurate good indication that this was in the second game of the season for both teams. Macklin Celebrini and Will Smith had three assists each, and goalie Yaroslav Askarov finished with 36 saves. Tyler Toffoli, Ryan Reaves, Mario Ferraro, John Klingberg, and Adam Gaudette also scored for the Sharks,"
San Jose lost 7-6 in overtime to Anaheim after Leo Carlsson scored 46 seconds into overtime following Chris Kreider’s game-tying goal with 51 seconds left in regulation. Jeff Skinner had given San Jose a 6-4 lead late in the third, but the Sharks allowed three unanswered goals to drop their second straight close game. The contest featured nine combined goals, four power-play goals and eight minor penalties through two periods. Macklin Celebrini and Will Smith recorded three assists each, Yaroslav Askarov made 36 saves, and scorers included Toffoli, Reaves, Ferraro, Klingberg and Gaudette. Power play improvements were expected after additions like Klingberg, Skinner, Kurashev and Orlov.
