Players from the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns reported that Acrisure Stadium’s grass surface was dry and unsafe, with chunks of turf coming loose during explosive movements. The NFL Players Association conveyed concern to the NFL and plans to work to prevent similar situations going forward. The club and league have communicated and the club has taken steps to replace the grass surface. Steelers kicker Chris Boswell slipped on the turf on a missed fourth-quarter field goal, and special teams captain Miles Killebrew suffered a significant non-contact knee injury while planting on the field.
