Ex-NFL player Jordan Shipley in critical condition after ranch fire
"The machine he was operating on his ranch caught fire, and although he managed to get out, it was not before sustaining severe burns on his body in the process. He was able to get to one of his workers on the ranch who drove him to a local hospital. He was then care-flighted to Austin, where he remains in critical but stable condition."
"Please pray for full healing and no infections or other issues on his road to recovery, he wrote. I don't want to get into all the details other than his life was spared today by the grace of God and the sheer will to live. Their father, Bob Shipley, updated on Facebook to say his son is undergoing surgeries to treat his burns. The biggest threats at this point seem to be infections and pneumonia, he wrote."
Jordan Shipley sustained severe burns when a machine he was operating on his ranch near Burnet, Texas caught fire. He managed to escape the blaze, reached a worker who drove him to a local hospital, and was care-flighted to Austin where he remains in critical but stable condition. Family updates identified him as owner and broker of Shipley Ranches and requested prayers for healing and avoidance of infections. His brother credited grace and will to live for sparing his life. His father reported ongoing surgeries and said infections and pneumonia are the biggest current threats. Shipley, 40, starred four seasons at Texas and played three NFL seasons.
