The Met Sells Pair Of UES Townhouses For Eye-Popping Price
"UPPER EAST SIDE, NY - The top luxury real estate sale in Manhattan this week was a pair of Upper East Side townhouses owned by the Metropolitan Museum of Art that sold for more than $28,000,000, according to Olshan Realty's weekly luxury market report. The adjacent five-story Gilded-Age era homes, at 6 and 8 East 82nd St., are being purchased by a private buyer whose identity and final offer have not yet been disclosed."
"According to the Olshan report, the two townhouses - which were on the market for just 16 days - will be turned into one double-wide residence. Olshan reported that the townhouses went for more than the asking price after a bidding war. The Met's townhouses were not the only luxury houses on the Upper East Side that went for top dollar in the past week. Between Oct. 6 and Oct. 12, nine residences on the Upper East Side went for more than $4,000,000."
