Suspect Charged in Plot to Bomb Taylor Swift Concert
Briefly

A Syrian teenager, known as Mohammad A., was charged in Germany for aiding in a bomb plot against Taylor Swift's concert in Austria, which led to the cancellation of three shows in summer 2024. The minor is accused of translating bomb-making instructions for terrorists. Austrian police discovered the plot on August 7, 2024, resulting in the arrest of two Austrian men. Swift expressed her devastation over the canceled shows, emphasizing gratitude for the authorities and minimizing potential loss of life.
Having our Vienna shows cancelled was devastating. The reason for the cancellations filled me with a new sense of fear, and a tremendous amount of guilt because so many people had planned on coming to those shows.
The two men arrested in connection with the plot were both Austrian; one was a 19-year-old and one was a 17-year-old.
