UFC Vancouver: Dober vs. Prepolec, Jourdain Score Bonuses
"The standard four bonuses were handed out following UFC Vancouver, and it was no surprise that the main event was not among them. A lackluster four-round affair between Reinier de Ridder and Brendan Allen did end in a stoppage, mainly when former ONE Championship double-champ RDR was unable to continue prior to round five. That TKO didn't do much to buoy fans' spirits after a grappling-heavy affair that, after the opening frame, seemed to feature more stalling than submission attempts or improving position."
"The biggest winner on the night might have been Nassourdine Imavov, who is now one step closer to a title shot against middleweight champ Khamzat Chimaev. Bonus winners, however, included Kyle Prepolec, who remains winless in the UFC but still engaged in a war with Drew Dober. After a low blow halted the action in the third, Dober took advantage and stormed back into the fight, scoring a TKO shortly after the action resumed."
"That showdown picked up Fight of the Night, while Prepolec's fellow Canadian Charles Jourdain earned a Performance of the Night bonus for his submission of English bantamweight Davey Grant. Jourdain finished Grant off with a guillotine, after the bout was promoted to the main card late this week. The final $50,000 U.S. post-fight bonus went to Aoriqileng, for a quick and violent knockout of Cody Gibson on the prelims."
Reinier de Ridder defeated Brendan Allen by TKO when de Ridder could not continue prior to round five after a grappling-heavy, largely stalled four-round main event. Nassourdine Imavov moved closer to a middleweight title shot against Khamzat Chimaev. Kyle Prepolec and Drew Dober produced Fight of the Night after a back-and-forth bout that included a third-round low blow and a late TKO by Dober. Charles Jourdain earned Performance of the Night with a guillotine submission of Davey Grant after his bout was promoted to the main card. Aoriqileng won a $50,000 bonus for a quick knockout of Cody Gibson on the prelims.
