Nate Diaz blasts Strickland, Chimaev for 'faking the funk'
"“They were faking the funk,” Diaz said in a face-to-face with Perry hosted by Most Valuable Promotions. “And they were f---ing acting like crazy and talking all this s--t to each other, and hugging and showing up the whole fight like some bitch. Fake f---ing puppets. I'm f---ing cool off that s--t. I gotta fight with this dude. He's the most violent mothererf---er... We're not friends or anything like that but I'm not gonna f---ing play around and make no f--ing artificial beef with you.”"
"“I think you're great, I think what you're doing is great. I think you're violent and mean. I came here to fight, train hard, win, and f--k your s--t up just like I know you're planning on f---ing my s--t up.”"
"Strickland dethroned Chimaev via split decision to win the middleweight title at UFC 328 last weekend. While there appeared to be serious bad blood between the two leading up to the fight, it didn't reflect in the bout. Strickland and Chimaev also quashed their beef after the fight, hugging it out inside the Octagon."
Nate Diaz is not impressed by the way Sean Strickland and Khamzat Chimaev handled their supposed rivalry. Strickland won the middleweight title in a split decision and the two fighters later showed no lasting hostility, hugging and reconciling after the bout. Diaz criticizes the behavior as fake and acting, saying he will not participate in artificial beef even when trash talk is used to sell a fight. Diaz plans to return to MMA against Mike Perry and states he is not friends with Perry, but he will focus on training, winning, and fighting with real intensity rather than staged conflict.
