Jon Jones and Alex Pereira are building toward a potential June matchup tied to a planned White House UFC event. Pereira painted "Next Jones" on a tire at the shop where he used to work and previously wrote Magomed Ankalaev's name on a tire after their rematch at UFC 320. Pereira reclaimed the light heavyweight title with a knockout of Ankalaev in October 2025 and has pushed for a heavyweight fight with Jones. Jones noted victories over several Brazilian legends, including Lyoto Machida, Vitor Belfort, Thiago Santos and Glover Teixeira, and warned Pereira to be cautious about seeking revenge. Jones briefly retired in June 2025 but reentered the drug testing pool after the White House event announcement.
