Jakub Wiklacz Reacts to Muin Gafurov Tap at UFC Vegas 113
"I felt the tap, but first I just grabbed this gilly, and I was like, maybe it won't be a submission, but I'll try."
"He's like 'it was the time, it was the time' and [I'm] like 'f*ck no, it wasn't time, it was a tapout. Just rewatch it! Rewatch it!' And then I'm waiting for a replay, and I see him tapping out and I was f*cking crazy."
"I want to win, but I know I have a style like this that they will love me."
Jakub Wiklacz defeated Muin Gafurov by guillotine submission with one second remaining at UFC Vegas 113 in Las Vegas. Gafurov missed weight by five pounds, so the bout was not at true bantamweight. At the end of the third round Gafurov appeared to tap but initially denied the submission, and the referee thought the fight ended due to time. Replay showed the tap and the referee awarded Wiklacz the victory. Wiklacz is 2-0 in the UFC after wins over Gafurov and Patchy Mix. The 29-year-old former KSW champion accepted the bout despite the weight miss and wants to fight in America to grow his fan base.
