Why a Midwest mom who moved to Belgium says her family is 'way better off' financially and she doesn't regret taking her kids out of US public schools
Briefly

Ahnika White and her family relocated from Minnesota to Belgium due to concerns about school safety and financial pressures related to medical bills. Her husband secured a job in Belgium, allowing them to move in September 2024. They found lower living and medical costs in Belgium, making it financially favorable. White expressed satisfaction with the decision, stating it has been life-changing for them. She believes the move has opened up better educational and future opportunities for her children, emphasizing the resilience of kids when adapting to new environments.
Financially, it's been life-changing. I'm a stay-at-home mom right now, versus in the US, I was the six-figure earner, and even then, we just couldn't seem to put enough into savings, or there were months we were shifting money around, and it was so stressful. And here we haven't even had one of those moments.
A lot of people are so worried about moving their kids and uprooting their kids, which is such a valid concern. But we've taken my daughter from continent to continent now, and they're so resilient and they adapt.
