Narciso Barranco, a 48-year-old landscaper and father of three U.S. Marines, is set to be released on bond from the Adelanto ICE processing center. His release comes after a bond hearing attended by local officials and family. The hearing highlighted concerns over immigration enforcement following a violent arrest captured on social media. Barranco will remain free until mid-August, when he will have another hearing regarding his adjustment to a parole-in-place status due to his wife's citizenship and his sons' military service. Community members have rallied for civil rights and due process.
Mr. Barranco will be released on bond sometime tomorrow afternoon, God willing! He can remain free until mid-August, where he will have another hearing to try and adjust his status to parole in place.
Video posted on social media shows Barranco being pinned to the ground and repeatedly punched, then pepper sprayed, by at least one masked, armed federal immigration agent in Santa Ana.
I was so impressed that Bishop Vann made the long drive out to the desert to bear witness and bless this special family.
Today was a good day in this new battle for civil rights, due process and humanitarian principles.
