Amie Doyle and her husband Adam struggled with infertility for years before becoming pregnant in 2021 through their first round of IVF. She experienced hyperemesis gravidarum, with severe nausea and sickness during pregnancy, but otherwise described the pregnancy as straightforward. At 24 weeks, she lost her daughter, creating major trauma. She later shared how the charity FirstLight helped her grieve and cope with the experience. With that support, she was able to face pregnancy again after the loss.
