Since the onset of the conflict in October 2023, over 260 journalists have been killed in Gaza. Mohammed Wishah, an Al Jazeera journalist, was recently killed in an Israeli drone strike, prompting a funeral attended by mourners in central Gaza. The ceremony took place at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital and included prayers at the Grand Mosque. Officials stated that the killing of journalists is part of a deliberate policy to silence the Palestinian voice and prevent the dissemination of information about the ongoing violence.
