Manuel Ugarte has struggled to replicate his Sporting CP form since joining Manchester United, appearing short of confidence and rhythm. His last start came in the 3-1 defeat to Brentford on September 27, after which Amorim favoured Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes to address midfield defensive frailties. United have since gone five matches unbeaten following a shaky start, but Ugarte has been increasingly on the periphery of team plans.
