'He cannot play left-back' - should Trafford 'stick it out' at Man City?
"He is a goalkeeper, James cannot play left-back,"
"At the moment we have a keeper in Gigio playing in that position but he is a top keeper, there is no doubt about that. I am really pleased he can play two more games."
"He played in the Champions League and I am a guy who wants to give opportunities to everyone."
James Trafford began the season as Manchester City's number one after returning to the club but has been benched since Gianluigi Donnarumma's arrival. Donnarumma was named Fifa best goalkeeper for 2025 and had won a similar Ballon d'Or accolade. Trafford kept a clean sheet in City's 2-0 Carabao Cup quarter-final victory over Brentford, which advanced the club to the semi-finals against Newcastle, yet he is expected to return to the bench for the Premier League visit from West Ham. Trafford left Burnley on a five-year deal; Donnarumma signed from PSG for about £26m.
