Man dead after bloody shoot-out with sheriff's deputies in East L.A.

A man was shot and killed by Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies during a shoot-out after allegedly firing shots into the air. The incident occurred around 4:24 a.m. in East L.A. when deputies responded to reports of gunfire. Upon locating the suspect, he allegedly opened fire on deputies, who then returned fire, striking him. Despite medical aid, he was pronounced dead at the scene. No deputies were injured, and multiple independent investigations are now underway to examine the incident.

At about 4:24 a.m., deputies responded to a call of shots fired in the 1500 block of Helen Drive, an unincorporated residential neighborhood in Los Angeles.

The deputies returned fire, hitting the suspect, who fell to the ground and allegedly continued to shoot, resulting in his death at the scene.
