UK government renews calls to sign Cyber Resilience Pledge | Computer Weekly

The UK government is pushing businesses to sign the Cyber Resilience Pledge as the Cyber Security and Resilience Bill advances through parliament. The pledge will launch later this year and requires three actions: making cyber security a board-level responsibility, signing up to the NCSC Early Warning Service, and requiring Cyber Essentials certification across supply chains. The government links cyber security to economic growth, job creation, and resilience of essential services. The pledge is part of broader efforts to strengthen national cyber defenses against fast-evolving, AI-enabled threats and to support the growth of the UK cyber sector. Recent figures show the sector’s economic contribution rising to £14.7bn in 2025, with growth in firms and employment.
