"The pub, which had most recently been operating as Franklins, is getting a full refurb, including a zinc bar top, porcelain lights, a bespoke back bar, antique mirrors, and polished wooden floors, ahead of reopening under its original name."
"The Victory's menu will showcase British cooking with a dash of French bistro thrown in, with dishes like oysters mignontette, Bayonne ham with celeriac remoulade, and steak tartare with dripping toast."
"The wide-ranging wine list will feature plenty of regional French classics as well as bottles from low-intervention, organic and biodynamic producers."
"For those who fancy something a little stronger, The Victory will also offer a dedicated martini menu, with classic serves and house variations like The Victory, Vesper and Nelson's Blood."
The Victory is reopening in East Dulwich after a refurbishment, previously known as Franklins. Jamie Younger, known for The Begging Bowl and The Palmerston, is leading the project. Executive Chef Seán Breen will oversee the kitchen, offering a menu that combines British and French bistro cuisine. The pub will feature a diverse wine list and a dedicated martini menu. The reopening is scheduled for May 26, 2026, at 157 Lordship Lane, London.
