Huo opens in Belsize Park offering a range of Asian cuisines
"Despite being the new kid on the block amidst many established restaurants on Belsize Square, the restaurant had a steady stream of diners arriving throughout the lunch service. I suspect this Pan-Asian restaurant will prove popular. It has a light and airy atmosphere, pared-down yet elegant décor, an à la carte menu that covers many of the most popular Asian dishes, and a good value-for-money two-course offering at lunchtime."
"The back room is stylish, featuring lime-washed flooring and chairs around the perimeter, as well as semi-circular banquettes in the centre. All the seating sports a chic, navy chevron print. The restaurant has a natural colour palette, with shades of taupe and light browns complemented by pops of light blue on large, framed architectural prints that adorn the walls. It is a calm space lit with rattan-shaded lighting."
Huŏ opened its Belsize Park branch two weeks before the visit and retained a fresh wood aroma. The Pan-Asian kitchen offers an à la carte menu and a two-course lunchtime menu priced at £19.95. Seating includes a long front bar with crescent-shaped banquettes, a stylish back room with lime-washed flooring and semi-circular banquettes, and navy chevron upholstery. The décor uses natural taupe and light brown tones with light blue accents and rattan-shaded lighting. Drinks included green tea kombucha. Starters featured wok-fried daikon cakes with lemongrass, presented piping hot and coated in a flavorful batter.
