Trump said Xi’s remark referred to damage from Biden’s four years, including open borders, high taxes, DEI, crime, and trade deals. Trump added that Xi was correct on that point and listed U.S. problems he associated with the Biden administration. Trump also praised Xi and said Xi offered help for a U.S.-Iran peace deal involving reopening the Strait of Hormuz. Trump further referenced continuing a U.S. operation in Iran despite an ongoing ceasefire and contrasted Xi’s comment with Trump-era claims of economic and military strength.
