The highlights from the report reveal that these midsize firms saw incredible success across average revenue (up 5.4%) and average revenue per lawyer (up 7.9%), while average size shrunk just a bit (down 3.4%) in 2024."

The Pro Mid-Market 50 rankings identify elite midsize law firms and report that average revenue rose 5.4% in 2024 while average revenue per lawyer increased 7.9%. Average firm size edged down 3.4% to about 114 lawyers. Average revenue per firm reached $81.13 million and average revenue per lawyer was $710,800. Midsize firms continue to pursue consolidation through mergers as a growth strategy. Revenue growth for the Mid-Market 50 lagged the bottom quarter of the Am Law 200 (9.3%), while RPL growth aligned closely with Am Law 151-200 (about 8.3%).
