XG member Cocona comes out as transmasc non-binary after having top surgery
"I am AFAB transmasculine non-binary. Earlier this year, I had top surgery,"
"The hardest thing I've ever faced was accepting and embracing myself. But as I slowly began to do that, I was able to open a new door. That moment changed the way I see and understand the world, and it gave me the courage and strength to grow,"
"May these words gently light a spark in someone's heart. And to everyone who needs it - may my love reach all of them."
Cocona, a 20-year-old rapper and member of XG, announced being AFAB transmasculine non-binary and revealed having had top surgery earlier this year. Cocona said being perceived as female never represented who they truly are and that living in a more masculine way feels truer to them. Cocona described accepting and embracing themself as the hardest challenge and said self-acceptance opened a new door, changed their perspective, and provided courage and strength to grow. Cocona affirmed there is nothing wrong with who they are inside and said they have full support from XG band members, founder Simon, and their parents. Cocona offered love and hope to others who may need it.
