Interview With Tom LeNoble, Author of the New Autobiography My Life in Business Suits, Hospital Gowns, and High Heels: In Control, Being Controlled, Out of Control! - San Francisco Bay Times
"Last June, I met a wonderful longtime member of our community, Tom LeNoble. I have been fascinated with his story of resilience ever since that first meeting. I instantly realized this is a special person! Well, it turns out all of us can now read about his amazing life's journey. His autobiography, My Life in Business Suits, Hospital Gowns, and High Heels: In Control, Being Controlled, Out of Control!, is available now."
"Tom LeNoble: Mark was 19 years old. He had shorts, a t-shirt, and sandals on. He asked if I would sit down with him on the sofa. We had a lovely conversation! I was hired when there were about 30 people in the building. I was by far the oldest person at Facebook at the time. I am very proud of my time at Facebook."
Tom LeNoble was born in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, and knew he was different by age five. His first drag performance took place at the Melody Club in Gainesville in the 1970s, and he misses the stage and performing. His business career began managing a lab at a psychiatric hospital in Gainesville and later moved into the long-distance industry at MCI. He interviewed with a young Mark Zuckerberg and was hired at Facebook when about 30 people worked there; he was by far the oldest employee and felt pride in that tenure. He observed generational differences at work that affected social interactions.
