City and state lawmakers, nonprofit groups, and LGBTQ advocacy organizations gathered at Christopher Park at the Stonewall National Monument for a Hands Off Our Flag rally protesting the federal administration's removal of the Rainbow Flag. Organizers and elected officials planned to raise the flag again on federal land later that day. Bronx Councilmember Justin Sanchez called the removal "just not right" and accused the federal administration of wanting to erase the community. Co-chair Chi Osse said the LGBTQIA+ Caucus has a responsibility to protect the LGBTQ community and pledged ongoing advocacy. Former co-chairs Crystal Hudson and Tiffany Caban denounced the removal and affirmed the community's resilience.
