""It wasn't even a question if we were going to not display signs like that anymore. It was immediately like, 'Okay, let's get this back up, and is there a way to make the message even bigger, even clearer?'" said Jamie Garuti Sage."
Old South Church in Copley Square has faced repeated thefts of a sign reading 'God loves trans people.' Despite this, church leaders remain committed to sharing their message of love and acceptance. The sign was first displayed last fall and has been stolen three times since March. In response, the church has replaced the sign and even hung a larger banner. Church leaders emphasize the importance of using their platform to counteract hate and support the LGBTQ+ community.
