"imagine how it could be different, and apply all tools and knowledge and energies to making that a reality. And IP is part of making, facilitating and enabling that. Intellectual property is framed as fundamental to human creativity and the drive to envision and build a better world. WIPO acts to facilitate IP knowledge transfer, mentorship, and ecosystem development so nations and entrepreneurs can leverage IP for economic growth and community resilience. Practical mentorship in Namibia shifted women entrepreneurs' perceptions of IP, improving business outcomes and family livelihoods. The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated recognition of IP's importance in many developing countries. Laws and regulations remain important, but emphasis is placed on building ecosystems and practical support. WIPO is also prioritizing responses to the burgeoning impact of artificial intelligence on innovation and IP systems.
