"The plans are being used and being built,"
"They will do the CAD renderings, they'll do the drawings,"
"It's not like a hypothetical-those physical things do exist out there."
"I can provide you [sic] permit drawing plan set for your residential home design within a few days."
A cluster of workers linked to North Korea produce architectural work including CAD renderings, structural drawings, and physical plans that are being used and built. Some operators create front companies to provide a veneer of legitimacy. Many of the remodels and renderings receive poor reviews, raising safety concerns if structures are constructed and indicating possible involvement in critical infrastructure projects. Screen recordings show freelancers creating profiles claiming to be licensed U.S. structural engineers or architects, selecting profile images from downloaded folders, translating text between English and Korean, using Social Security number generator websites, and soliciting residential permit drawing work.
