Georgia Tech Research Corporation agreed to pay the United States $875,000 to resolve allegations of violating the False Claims Act and federal common law by failing to meet cybersecurity requirements for certain Air Force and DARPA contracts. GTRC performs research at the Georgia Institute of Technology and holds contracts with government agencies including the Department of Defense. The settlement addresses claims that GTRC did not implement required cybersecurity controls and provided false information to the government about compliance. Department of Justice and DoD officials stated they will continue to pursue and litigate cybersecurity violations and hold contractors accountable.
