"in the middle of ongoing airport traffic - a real logistical masterpiece that shows how innovation and everyday life can work together smoothly."
"A challenging project successfully implemented! The charging infrastructure at Munich Airport places special demands on technology and organization, and that's exactly what makes it exciting. Proud of the team that has mastered this challenge and made electric mobility a reality in a complex environment."
Munich Airport expanded zero-emission ground transport with a new electric bus depot featuring 50 charging stations, each rated at 120 kW. The depot currently supports infrastructure for 37 zero-emission buses with planned expansion to accommodate 72 buses. MAN received a 2024 order for 49 e-buses with an option for 25 additional vehicles. SBRS GmbH, part of Shell group, delivered installation and commissioning in partnership with AeroGround. Installation and commissioning took place amid ongoing airport traffic, requiring complex logistics and coordination. Project manager Marvin Thölke praised the team for meeting technological and organizational demands and enabling electric mobility in a complex environment.
