"While an intentional act was the most likely scenario, at present there was no evidence of a terrorist attack. Authorities said it would take several days to identify the six people who died. It was not immediately clear if the suspected arsonist was among the dead."
A bus fire in Kerzers, western Switzerland, killed at least six people and injured five on Tuesday evening. The vehicle, operated by a passenger and mail transport service, caught fire in a town approximately 20 kilometers west of Berne. Police investigators suspect a deliberate act by someone aboard the bus, with reports indicating a person may have doused themselves in fuel and set themselves on fire. Authorities have opened a criminal investigation and stated there is currently no evidence suggesting a terrorist motive. Identification of the deceased is expected to take several days. The Swiss president expressed condolences following this incident and referenced a previous devastating fire in Crans-Montana on New Year's Eve.
