Your Wemo smart devices are about to get dumb as Belkin pulls the plug
Briefly

Wemo will discontinue support for most of its smart devices sold over the last ten years on January 31, 2026. This includes light switches, plugs, and other products. The Wemo app will also lose functionality, including remote access and voice controls. Affected products will operate as standard devices with no smart features. While products under warranty may yield small refunds, this does not apply to the majority. Belkin has chosen to focus resources on other areas of its business, leading to this decision.
Wemo announced it will end support for nearly all of its smart devices sold over the last 10 years on Jan. 31, 2026.
The Wemo app used to control devices will no longer be supported after Jan. 31, and features relying on cloud connectivity will cease to function.
If Wemo products are under warranty on or after Jan. 31, 2026, users may be eligible for a small refund, though this does not apply to most products.
Belkin decided to focus resources on different parts of their business, leading to the difficult decision to terminate technical support for older Wemo products.
