Grantstown Daycare Centre held its annual 5km Charity Walk, raising several thousand euro with strong local community and parish support. The event marked the fifth annual walk and has become a key yearly fundraising activity for the charity. Wexford County Council provided a €1,000 donation, presented with support from Leas-Cathaoirleach (Rosslare MD) Lisa McDonald. Danescastle Strawberry Farm served as a pit stop, with the Mernagh family providing fresh strawberries and juice for walkers. Young and old participated, and refreshments followed, including homemade baking from the daycare kitchen staff. Funds raised this year totaled just over €2,000 and will be used to upgrade daycare bathrooms with emergency assistant aids across the centre.
"Grantstown Daycare Centre held their annual 5km Charity Walk earlier this month, raising several thousand euro. The event received support from the local community and parishioners. This year marked the 5th annual walk, which has become one of the main fundraising events for the charity each year."
"Grantstown was delighted to receive a generous donation of a €1,000 cheque from Wexford County Council, presented with the support of Leas-Cathaoirleach (Rosslare MD) Lisa McDonald. Danescastle Strawberry Farm proved to be a welcome pit stop along the route, where the Mernagh family kindly provided fresh strawberries and juice for all the walkers on the day."
"Young and old alike took part in the walk, and afterwards everyone enjoyed plenty of refreshments, including delicious homemade baking prepared by the kitchen staff at Grantstown. The money raised this year amounted to just over €2,000 and will be used to upgrade our daycare bathrooms with emergency assistant aids throughout the centre."
"A big thank you to all the staff and volunteers at Grantstown who work so hard to organise this fundraiser every year, and to everyone who donated and supported this wonderful cause."
