Parker to begin coaching with France U17 team
"I've been thinking about coaching for two years now, telling myself it's the next step for me. I miss being on the court, the adrenaline, the challenge,"
"That's why I decided to get my coaching licenses."
Tony Parker will begin his coaching career as head coach of France's under-17 national basketball team. He will lead the team at the U17 World Cup in Turkey next year. Parker had been considering coaching for two years and decided to obtain coaching licenses. He said he misses being on the court and cited the adrenaline and the challenge as motivating factors. Parker is 43 years old. He won four NBA championships with the San Antonio Spurs (2003, 2005, 2007, 2014) and made 181 appearances for France, winning EuroBasket in 2013.
