Mother arrested after two babies found dead in French family's freezer
"French police have detained a 50-year-old woman after the bodies of two infants were found in a freezer in eastern France, with the suspect admitting to freezing her newborns, prosecutors said on Thursday. The discovery was made after the woman, who had nine children from three different fathers, had abruptly left the family home in the eastern town of Aillevillers-et-Lyaumont in December."
"On Tuesday, a family member discovered the body of a newborn baby in a freezer. After the family raised the alarm, police discovered a second body in the same freezer, wrapped in a bag. A woman, who was arrested in the western Paris suburb of Boulogne-Billancourt on Wednesday, admitted to having frozen her two babies after they were born, prosecutor Cedric Logelin told a news conference."
A 50-year-old woman admitted freezing two newborns whose bodies were discovered in a freezer in eastern France. She had nine children and abruptly left the family home in December, leaving several children behind. A family member found the first body, prompting police to find a second wrapped infant in the same freezer. The suspect was arrested in Boulogne-Billancourt and said she wrapped the newborns immediately after birth and placed them in a laundry-room freezer. She concealed pregnancies with loose clothing and could not specify exact birth dates, saying the children were born between 2011 and 2018. Her partner was detained. An autopsy and a judicial investigation for murder of minors under 15 are underway.
