Gisele Pelicot will return to court for a short appeal next week after one of the 51 men convicted sought to overturn his verdict. Fifty-one men, including her former husband Dominique Pelicot, were convicted at a trial that ended in December 2024 for drugging and repeatedly sexually assaulting her over about a decade. Pelicot, 72, waived anonymity and became a public symbol against male sexual violence through dignified conduct. The appeal by Husamettin D. is due in Nîmes, is expected to last up to four days, and follows his nine-year sentence with delayed incarceration for health reasons.
