"The tests confirmed both the robustness of the technical solutions and the keen interest of travellers in being able to book their journeys further in advance. This option is available on all TGV Inoui trains to better align with tourists' planning, while meeting our customers' expectations in terms of flexibility and travel preparation."
"Longer booking slots have long been the norm for travel to destinations in other European countries, and on the French budget Ouigo trains, while Italian rival Trenitalia - which offers connections to Lyon, Marseille and Milan from Paris - also has the longer booking options."
"SNCF also said that it is increasing the number of seats available on TGV Inoui trains from Paris to Marseille and Nice in the spring and autumn, complementing the increased service during the summer."
SNCF has expanded its advance ticket booking system nationwide, enabling passengers to reserve high-speed TGV Inoui train tickets up to nine months ahead, from March 11th through December 12th. This follows a successful trial in south-east France. The extended booking period aligns with tourist planning needs and customer expectations for flexibility. SNCF is also increasing seat capacity on routes from Paris to Marseille and Nice during spring and autumn, and adding 60,000 seats for Alpine journeys to Annecy for the third consecutive year. Additional TGV services are being introduced for summer travel to Strasbourg, La Rochelle, Quimper, and Perpignan, reflecting growing train travel preferences in France.
