EasyJet announces plans to expand flights to Bordeaux
"The departure of Ryanair has accelerated the pace, but given the current situation we are above all consolidating our position. This winter we have increased our offer by 10.5 percent and we have made year-round some routes between Bordeaux and the UK. We currently have 41 routes, which is our record in Bordeaux. We're reassured by the region's potential and we're continuing to develop, to the point of strengthening Bordeaux. We already have four aircraft and 200 employees at Bordeaux Airport."
"Today, our aim is to ensure the success of Bordeaux, a relatively new base for us, that has suffered the full force of the Covid crisis and is now in a phase of maturity."
easyJet will expand summer routes from Bordeaux and has already increased its winter schedule to the city. The airline boosted its winter offering by 10.5 percent and operates year-round routes between Bordeaux and the UK. Bordeaux now has a record 41 easyJet routes, with four aircraft and 200 employees based at the airport. Ryanair's exit, which represented almost a quarter of the airport's flights, opened capacity that easyJet is filling. Bordeaux remains a key destination for British visitors and easyJet reported a 9 percent rise in turnover and profits in 2025.
