"Tickets for train travel during the Christmas and New Year holidays in France will go on sale starting on October 1st. Tickets will be available on SNCF Connect starting at 6am on Wednesday. Customers will be able to purchase tickets for TGV Inoui (standard high-speed rail) and regional trains (Intercités and TER) for travel between December 14th and January 7th."
"Fares increase in price as time goes on and as trains fill up. The Trainline ticket sales platform estimated to BFMTV that by the 11th week after ticket sales open, popular lines from Paris to Marseille, Bordeaux, Rennes and Toulouse have already hit 70 percent capacity. When comparing the week that tickets open with the week of departure, Trainline found that, on average, booking early allowed customers to save 30 percent."
"There will be "up to 29,000 additional seats per week, from Thursday, November 27th to Tuesday, December 23rd," SNCF announced. SNCF also announced it would add a new Ouigo (budget) service between Paris and Hendaye (in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques département in south-west France). The service will kick off on December 14th, and it will pass through Bordeaux, Dax, Bayonne, Biarritz and Saint-Jean-de-Luz."
