Robert Duvall died February 15 at age 95. His wife Luciana said he passed peacefully at home surrounded by love and comfort and praised his passion for craft and characters. Duvall earned seven Oscar nominations and won Best Actor for 1983's Tender Mercies. Horton Foote wrote Tender Mercies and recommended Duvall for his screen debut as Boo Radley in To Kill a Mockingbird. Born in 1931, Duvall served in the military after the Korean War, used the G.I. Bill to study under Sanford Meisner, and worked in theater and television before rising during 1970s New Hollywood.
