Kevin Spacey and accusers settle before civil trial
"The civil cases had been due to go to trial at the High Court later this year, but those proceedings have now been frozen following the settlement. The men alleged that Spacey assaulted them between 2000 and 2013. The Oscar winner, 66, denies all allegations of wrongdoing."
"One man, known only as LNP, alleged that Spacey "deliberately assaulted" him on about 12 occasions between 2000 and 2005. Another, referred to as GHI, says he met Spacey through a workshop at London's Old Vic theatre and claimed he "suffered psychiatric damage and financial loss" as a result of an assault in 2008."
"He was in Tennessee Williams' play Sweet Bird of Youth at the Old Vic in 2013, and alleged that Spacey groped him at a party after the show's press night. Cannon took part in a Channel 4 documentary, Spacey Unmasked, in 2024. Spacey said the allegation was "ridiculous and it never happened"."
Kevin Spacey reached an out-of-court settlement with three men who had filed civil sexual assault cases against him at the High Court. The cases were scheduled for trial later in the year but have been frozen following the settlement. The men alleged assaults occurred between 2000 and 2013. Spacey denies all wrongdoing and was acquitted of nine sexual offence charges in a 2023 criminal trial. Two accusers from the criminal trial also pursued civil cases: one alleged approximately 12 assaults between 2000 and 2005, another claimed an assault in 2008 while Spacey was artistic director at London's Old Vic theatre, and a third, Ruari Cannon, alleged groping at a 2013 theatre party. Settlement terms remain undisclosed.
