"Despite now being fully owned and controlled by Amazon MGM Studios, James Bond movies have been irregularly available on Prime Video or other streaming services in recent months. Starting January 15th, though, 26 of the iconic British spy's cinematic adventures will begin streaming on Netflix, from the Sean Connery-starring Dr. No to the final Daniel Craig film, No Time to Die."
"However, Connery also starred as Bond in 1983's Never Say Never Again, which was based on the novel Thunderball but produced by a separate production company and distributed by Warner Bros. Additionally, in 1967 a loose adaptation of the novel Casino Royale was made as a parody of the spy movie genre, with a cast led by Peter Sellers as one of many Bonds."
"James Bond streaming on Netflix is a move that may help build up some excitement for the future of the franchise, given that it might take until 2028 for future Bond director Denis Villeneuve's vision to arrive in theaters. Amazon MGM Studios fully owns the James Bond film catalog, but availability on Prime Video and other streaming services has been inconsistent. Beginning January 15, twenty-six Bond films will stream on Netflix, covering Sean Connery's Dr. No through Daniel Craig's No Time to Die. The count includes 1983's Never Say Never Again, a non-Eon Thunderball adaptation distributed by Warner Bros., and notes the 1967 Casino Royale parody existed while only the 2006 Casino Royale appears slated for streaming. Netflix availability could boost interest ahead of a Denis Villeneuve-directed Bond film possibly arriving around 2028.
