Peggy Van Vliet, known as the Coffee Queen of 1940, posed inside a novelty world's largest iced coffee glass while holding an iced coffee. Stuntwoman Lillian Boyer performed a daring aerial stunt by hanging casually from an airplane wing. Authorities constructed an enormous tower entirely from alcohol confiscated during Prohibition to display the scale of seizures. An old-timey baseball team photograph appears to capture what some regard as the earliest photographed instance of someone flipping the bird. Actor Marty Feldman made one of his trademark faces, and a film premiere for Underwater was held literally underwater.
